PROGRESS UPDATE ON DUNGEONS & DESTINY: A FREE RE-IMAGINING OF D&D 5e TO FIT THE DESTINY SETTING

I’m excited to announce that work has been coming along beautifully on Dungeons and Destiny! Here’s what’s happening right now:

• 6 of the classes are done and are going through the playtesting gauntlet (Striker, Defender, Gunslinger, Bladedancer, Nightstalker, and Voidwalker)
• The Sunbreaker, Sunsinger, and Stormcaller classes are moving to playtesting very soon
• The core races are ready to go (human, exo, awoken)
• Ghosts are in the game, and they have their own character sheet now!
• Additional races (eliksni, psion, legionaire, goblin, acolyte) are being added for those who want to do unconventional Guardians
• Spellcasting has been replaced with a cooldown system that is easy to manage and keep track of
• The weapons in the Dungeons & Dragons Player’s Handbook have been replaced with the core set of firearms in Destiny 1, which include new properties such as explosive, and can be modified with weapon perks such as rangefinder, army of one, and reactive reload
• The mechanics for armor, armor class and hit points have been modified to suit the abilities of Guardians, including the use of shields and armor perks
• There are monster stat blocks for the Fallen and Hive races, including stat blocks for Sepiks Prime and the Champions of Crota
• More stat blocks are being developed for Cabal, Vex, and Taken enemies
• The Devil’s Lair, the first encounter being developed for D&Destiny, is going through its final testing stages

Furthermore, this project now has a Patreon! The final product of this project, the Dungeons & Destiny Player’s Guidebook, will remain free. However, because it is taking up so much of my time, I have decided to launch a Patreon to bring in a little extra income so that I don’t have to take so many shifts/hours at work and can spend more time working on this. For just $1/month you can get access to the Discord channel which includes early updates, an early launch of the Player’s Guidebook, the GameMaster’s Guidebook (releasing shortly after the Player’s Guidebook), polls, the ability to give direct feedback on the project, and the ability to playtest new and updated material before anyone else!

And this project isn’t going to stop with just the Player’s Guidebook. Here are some other content in the works for D&Destiny:

• Developing the Vault of Glass raid encounters

• Adding the Destiny 2 classes (Sentinel, Dawncaller, Arcstrider) to the game

• Turning The Taken King into an entire D&Destiny campaign that takes Guardians from 1st level to 20th level, and ends with players challenging Oryx in his Ascendant Realm
